In 2023 the arthritis in my hands became too sore to continue with the heavy studio work. In addition to this I was in and out of hospital and the prospect of spending time in the dust-filled workroom with noisy machinery was not appealing.
I started working with paper. I didn't know what I was aiming for, but I started making shapes and filling them in and when I started using paper pattern tissue, I began to enjoy the shapes and forms that were developing.
My work is still influenced by botantical forms, also the idea of layering. Cutting into the paper so that some part of the underneath is visible, back-to-front words, using several different coloured layers, contribute to the mystery of depth in a 2D form.
All works are on 30 gm2 water colour paper. The paint is acrylic as are the inks I use.
All works are for sale unless otherwise stated.
